Project narrative

On August 27, 2019, the third bilateral training course on marine fisheries in Costa Rica concluded after being held in Costa Rica and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China. The program lasted 20 days and was undertaken by the Fujian Institute of Oceanography. This course is also known as the "2019 Training Course on Marine Spatial Planning, Fisheries Management and Aquaculture in Costa Rica." The 90 attendees included officials from the Costa Rican Fisheries Association, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the National Training Center, the Ministry of Health, the National Insurance Association, Pacific Ocean Park, and other institutions. The first two aquaculture training courses held in 2017 and 2018 have reportedly trained more than 120 trainees from government departments, research institutions, fishery cooperative, and farmers.
