Description

In August 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica awarded 7 students in Costa Rica scholarships to pursue higher education studies in China. These students were from public schools that belong to the project "Let's Talk in Mandarin" (or "Hablemos en Mandarín" in Spanish) which is a cooperation between the Ministry of Public Education and the Chinese Costa Rican Cultural and Educational Center and detailed in Project ID #54673. The monetary value of each scholarship is unknown. These scholarships are awarded by the Government of the People's Republic of China, for a stay of five years. During the first year, the young people will specialize in mastering the Mandarin language and, in the following four years, they will train as professionals in careers such as international relations, computer science and technology, physical education, international politics, and teaching Mandarin to foreigners. The universities participating in the program are Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing Sport University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing University, Beijing Language and Culture University and Harbin Engineering University.
