Project narrative

On March 14, 2016, the Beijing Chinese School opened in Caracas, Venezuela, as an institution furthering Chinese cultural and linguistic education. As noted by an article released by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Association of Beijing–also known as the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU)– made “great contributions" to the construction of the institution. Throughout the opening ceremony, China’s Ambassador to Venezuela, Zhao Bentang delivered a speech and donated textbooks, dictionaries, and teaching CD’s among other educational materials.
