Project narrative

On Feburary 27, 2014, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) signed an agreement with London South Bank University to provide a £800,000 GBP grant for the renovation of the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine in London as part of its designation as a "Model Confucius Institute". London South Bank University will provide GBP 2 million to fund the project over 10 years. On September 20, 2015, an inauguration ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project. The project renovated and added the Caxton House at 13-16 Borough Road to the Confucius Institute, providing additional teaching and office spaces. This project is among one of the first Model Confucius Institute projects designated in 2014.
