Project narrative

On August 28, 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Egypt held a reception to bid farewell to 364 Egyptian students who will study in China after receiving 2019 Chinese Government(-funded) Scholarships. The students will study agriculture, machinery, aerospace, Chinese, life sciences, marine science, engineering construction, computer applications and other disciplines in universities in China. According to the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, 157 of the Egyptian students were provided scholarships through joint cooperation between the Chinese Embassy and the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.

While the Chinese Embassy has specified that the scholarships are for study in China, financial information on the scholarships is unavailable from either media or official sources (i.e. tuition costs, transportation, etc).
