According to the Ministry of International Cooperation, the grant amounted to RMB 66.1 million. The objective of the Egyptian-Chinese School for Applied Technology is described as to link industry outputs to the educational process, provide skilled technical labor required for the job market in order to meet it needs, and create education curricula based on the needs of the job market and industry requirements. It also aims to send faculty members and administrators to the Egyptian Chinese College in cooperation with the Misr El Kheir Foundation. According to the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, this is the first time that China and Egypt have carried out vocational and technical education together through the running of a school.
