Chinese Ambassador to Venezuela gifted books on Chinese culture and governance to Venezuelan Minister of Education

Project narrative

On March 2, 2017, Zhao Bentang, the Chinese Ambassador to Venezuela, met with Elías Jaua, the Venezuelan Minister of Education and Vice-Chairman of Venezuela’s Social Development and People’s Livelihood Program. Throughout the meeting, both representatives discussed the benefits of past collaboration in cultural education and possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the field of education. Following the meeting, Ambassador Zhao gifted the Spanish version of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of the Country” in addition to other books to Minister Elías Jaua. The three volumes (published in 2014, 2017, and 2020) of “The Governance of China” contains a collection of speeches and writings by Xi Jinping, articulating his political philosophy about Chinese economics, international affairs, technology, and peaceful co-existence. Ambassador Zhao also gifted the Spanish version of the book to Davila, the Editor-in-Chief of Últimas Noticias newspaper (see Record ID#90042), Eduardo Mendez, the Executive Director of the Simón Bolívar Music Foundation (see Record ID#90062), Gutierrez, the President of the Venezuelan Supreme Court Committee (see Record ID#90045), Gregorio Montero, the Secretary-General of CLAD (see Record ID#90126), Ruben Dario Molina, the Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (see Record ID#90128), and to Tibisay Lucena, the President of Venezuela’s National Election Commission (see Record ID#90130) across various diplomatic visits and meetings.
