On July 7, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Honiara donated 2,000 disposable face masks for COVID-19 relief to the Makira Ulawa Province. This donation is part of China's ongoing effort to aid the Solomon Islands with their Covid-19 response. The masks were to be given to the Provincial Disaster Operations Committee to assist front line health workers.
