Project narrative

In 2017, the Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools at the University of Strathclyde's Scotland's National Centre for Languages was awarded the Model Confucius Institute status, providing it with renovations and funding from Hanban in the form of a grant. As a part of this award, Hanban agreed to renovate the Ramshorn building, designating it as the new home for Scotland’s National Centre for Languages and the institute. The project had a total cost of USD 2.7 million, split between Hanban and the University of Strathclyde. The project was completed and an unveiling ceremony was held on September 23rd, 2019.
