Guangdong Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries donates 1,000 school bags to Tongan Primary Schools

On March 20th, 2020, the Tonga-China Friendship Association presided over a donation of 1,000 schoolbags to Tongan primary schools. The schoolbags were donated by the Guangdong Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, an organization funded by the Guangdong Provincial Government. Each bag contained 2 notebooks and a pencil case with a pencil, sharpener, and eraser. The bags went to schools in Mu'a Village, Haveluliku Village, Fua'amotu Village and schools on the islands of Vava'u, 'Eua and Ha'apai. Several donation ceremonies were held at schools for the bags- in attendance at many of the ceremonies was Chinese ambassador to Tonga, Cao Xiaolin. The donation was meant to reinforce the friendship between China and Tonga by providing supplies for primary school students.
