Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On December 23, 2020, the Hubei Provincial Government donated 37,000 units of tea to Mongolia. According to the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, the teas that Hubei Province donated were the raw materials for the Mongolian people's favorite milk tea. The green and black teas will be distributed by the Mongolian Government to herdsmen's homes, who assisted in the Mongolian Government's donation of 30,000 sheep to Hubei Province earlier in 2020. The monetary value of the tea is unknown.

Staff comments

1. The CRS Sector was coded as AGRICULTURE because China donated tea to Mongolia in response to Mongolia's donation of sheep. 2. The intent was coded as representational because the tea donation, which was in response to Mongolia's donation of sheep to China, were a symbol of friendship and didn't have real commercial, military, or development intent. 3. The monetary value of the donated teas is unknown.
