Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at St Chad's Catholic and Church of England High School was officially established as a Confucius Classroom in July 2010. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing St Chad's Catholic and Church of England High School with a grant that included the support of a Hanban teacher. The Confucius Classroom’s partner school is Tongling Number 3 Middle School. Nine Tongling Number 3 Middle School teachers taught in the Confucius Classroom at St Chad's St Chad's Catholic and Church of England High School in the period from 2002 to 2017. The Confucius Classroom was running before it was officially opened, having begun operations on November 30, 2009. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44315.

Staff comments

1. AidData has coded Peking University and Affiliated High School of Peking University as the implementing agencies because they are the Chinese partner institutions for the Confucius Institute at the UCL Institute of Education, which oversees this Confucius Classroom. 2. The Chinese name of the school is 圣查德中学.
