Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at Argoed School began operations on October 13, 2010; its official establishment was held on July 19, 2012. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Argoed School with a grant. It was one of the first five Confucius Classrooms to be established in Wales. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44303.

Staff comments

1. AidData has coded Xiamen University as the implementing agency because Xiamen University is the Chinese partner institution for the Confucius Institute at Cardiff University, which oversees this Confucius Classroom. 2. The school is also known as Mynydd Isa’s Argoed High School. The Chinese name of the school is 阿戈伊德中学.
