Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at Hazlehead Academy was established on March 5, 2009. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Hazlehead Academy with a grant. According to WiredGov, Learning and Teaching Scotland signed an agreement with Chinese authorities in April 2008 to open eight Confucius Classroom Hubs within one year. Hazlehead Academy was the eighth Confucius Classroom to have been opened based on the agreement. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44317.
