On May 16, 2020, the City of Shenzhen donated 30,000 surgical masks, worth 13,440 USD, to São Paulo, Brazil in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The masks are intended to aid the Municipal Health Department of São Paulo fight the Covid-19 pandemic (Secretaria Municipal da Saúde).
