Project narrative

On June 16, 2011, the Confucius Classroom at the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School was officially opened. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) helped establish the Confucius Classroom at the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing it with additional funding and resources. The classroom was created in partnership between Eötvös Loránd University and Hanban. The Classroom was established in affiliation with the Confucius Institute at Eötvös Loránd University. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44270. On June 19, 2017, the school was officially inaugurated as an independent Confucius Classroom, separating it from the Confucius Institute at Eötvös Loránd University. The classroom is the first and only independent Confucius Classroom in Hungary. As of 2017, the classroom has trained nearly 1,000 students.
