Project narrative

On April 30, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Ecuador handed over a donation of medical supplies from China Meheco Group Co. Ltd. to Ecuador's Ministry of Public Health. The donated supplies included 1,000 disposable protective suits, 5,000 surgical masks, 1,000 safety glasses, 1,000 disposable surgical gloves and 500 infrared thermometers. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. The supplies will be distributed to hospitals in the provinces of Pichincha and Manabí by the national Ministry of Public Health. The handover ceremony was held at Quito International Airport. China’s Ambassador to Ecuador, Chen Guoyou, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Valencia, and Ecuadorian Health Minister Ceballos attended the ceremony and jointly signed the intergovernmental handover certificate. Ecuador's Ministry of Foreign Affairs helped coordinate the donation.
