Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at Wigan & Leigh College began operations on June 1, 2009; its official establishment was held in December 2008. It was the second independent Confucius Classrooms (独立孔子课堂) to be established in the United Kingdom. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Wigan & Leigh College with a grant. The Chinese partner institute is Xi'An Bo-Ai International School.
