Project narrative
On May 23, 2020, the Chongqing Municipal Government sent $87,256 USD of medical supplies to the Córdoba Province in Argentina, which arrived in the province on June 2, 2020. Córdoba's Regional Integration Secretariat was responsible for managing the donated materials. More specifically, the donation consisted of the following: 1,100 face shields, 1,520 N95 masks, and 1,350 protective suits. The supplies were manufactured by Chongqing Shangkun Medical Devices Co., Ltd. Additionally, the Chongqing Municipal Government covered the costs associated with transporting the materials from China to Córdoba. The donation was given in response to a letter sent in March by the Secretary of Regional Integration, Jorge Montoya, who expressed his solidarity and made himself available to the Chongqing government authorities.

1. The Catholic University of Chile's Asian Studies Center estimated this donation value at USD 21,808. However, the Córdoba Provincial Government reported the value at 87,256 USD. AidData has deferred to the more official source. 2. An earlier article from Córdoba's Provincial Government indicated the donation would consist of 1,600 disposable medical face shields, 1,520 surgical masks and 1,200 disposable clothing protectors. However, the article from Córdoba's Provincial Government after the donation had been completed reported that the donation included 1,100 face shields, 1,520 N95 masks, and 1,350 protective overalls ("mamelucos"). The later article has been used here, insofar as it reports the materials that ultimately were donated and arrived in Córdoba. However, the value estimates for both donations were USD 87,256. 3. This project should not be confused with ID#94029, which captures a donation from Chongqing Municipal Government to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. While the donations are very similar in terms of donor and type of supply donated, the recipient and number of each type of PPE are different.
