On December 11, 2020, the Chinese government gave a grant of FJD 90,000 to Fiji's Ministry of Local Governance. The aid will be used to build the Sigatoka Town Amphitheater. The venue will host meetings, concerts, and serve as seating for water sports events occurring on the nearby river. Another portion of the funds will be used to fund the adding concrete to the Mission Road Car Park, a nearby parking lot.
