Project narrative

On May 11, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in the Dominican Republic and the State-Owned Enterprise, Zoomlion, donated COVID-19 prevention materials to the National District City Council. The donation included two ventilators, 500 protective suits, 500 goggles, 20,000 disposable medical masks, and 10,000 N95 masks (see: "China dona a República Dominicana materiales para enfrentar la Covid-19”). The Hunan Province facilitated the delivery of Zoomlion's contribution. The materials were intended to aid frontline workers in the National District during the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation ceremony took place at the City Hall in the Colonial City, attended by the Mayor of Santo Domingo, Carolina Mejía, and the Chinese Ambassador, Zhang Run. Estimated value of this donation is $87,268 USD.
