Project narrative

On April 24, 2020, the Chinese government donated medical materials to the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD). The donated supplies consisted of masks, gloves and protective glasses that will be used to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among athletes, technicians and doctors staying at the Olympic Hostel. A handover ceremony was held for the donation at the Albergue Olímpico, which is a training facility located in Salinas, Puerto Rico. The Chinese Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Zhang Run, delivered the materials to Luis Mejía, president of the COD. Mejía was accompanied by the Secretary General of COD, Gilberto García, and Luis Chanlatte, the COD Vice President.
