Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On May 22, 2018, during a speech to Greek cultural organizations, the Chinese Ambassador to Greece, Zou Xiaoli, donated a collection of 28 traditional Chinese theatrical costumes to the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation. The costumes had been brought to Greece by visiting Chinese delegations over the course of several years and were presented to the foundation to "be preserved with good care" and "continue [their] active role in promoting bilateral cultural exchanges". The costumes are kept in the collection of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, with 14 of the costumes having been publicly displayed in an exhibition at the foundation's Rooftile and Brickworks Museum from December 15, 2018 to March 31, 2019. The exhibition's opening was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Greece and his wife.
