Project narrative

On May 7, 2020, the Shandong Province in China provided anti-epidemic materials to Botswana. The materials included 30,000 surgical masks, 1,000 N95 masks, and 6,000 surgical gloves. These materials will be used for COVID-19 prevention efforts. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony took place for this donation at the Chinese Embassy in Botswana. Zhao Yanbo, China’s Ambassador to Botswana, and the Minister of Health and Wellness of Botswana attended the ceremony. The ceremony coincided with the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Botswana.
