The Confucius Classroom at Horbury School was established in October 2008. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Horbury School with a grant. The Confucius Classroom’s partner school is Xinzhuyuan Junior Middle School in Shanghai.
