Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On January 20, 2012, the U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced that the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the UK Research Council had signed agreements to conduct joint research on two projects. The first of these projects focuses on smart grids for which the two parties will each contribute about 30 million yuan, and will fund 3 to 4 specific cooperation projects since 2013. This announcement was made during a two-day visit of the British Chancellor to Beijing during which the agreements were signed. The NSFC is a government department under the Ministry of Science and Technology that funds scientific research, principally basic research.
