The Confucius Classroom at Westlake Boys High School was established on March 7, 2016. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Westlake Boys High School with a grant. It was the 9th school to establish a Confucius Classroom in Auckland. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44178.
