Project narrative
The Confucius Classroom at Rotorua Boys’ High School was established on March 3, 2010. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Rotorua Boys’ High School with a grant. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44176.

According to the Confucius Institute at the Victoria University of Wellington, the host schools of Confucius Classrooms were eligible for establishment funding and further annual funding for school or cluster projects related to Chinese language and culture from Xiamen University. 2.
