Project narrative

On April 28, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Ghana and the Ghana-Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce (CECCG) jointly donated approximately GH 50,000-worth of personal protection equipment (PPE) supplies to the Ghana's Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection. The donation ceremony took place at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Security in Ghana, and according to Shiting Wang, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, children, especially orphans, are more in need of help due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the purpose of this donation is to help children in need in Ghana. The donated materials included 1,200 bottles of hand sanitizer, 16,000 baby wipes, 6,800 baby diapers, 3,000 masks, 2,520 bars of soap and 1,200 rolls of toilet paper. The above materials will be distributed to local orphanages through the Ghana Gender, Children and Social Security section to protect local vulnerable children from the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
