Project narrative

On August 21, 2020, the Chinese Embassy jointly organized the donation of 300 sets of desks and chairs to the Mushasa Primary School in Gatumba County, Bujumbura Rural Province. The donation was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Burundi, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Burundi's Ministry of National Education and Research. The Chinese side is responsible for the production of desks and chairs, the United Nations agencies were responsible for material transportation, organization and coordination, and the Burundi side is responsible for material distribution. This donation was made in response to the severe flooding that impacted the area.
