Project narrative

On January 31, 2019, the Chinese Government officially handed over 4,114 articles of sporting equipment — including table tennis, taekwondo, judo, weightlifting, athletics, swimming, basketball, soccer and handball equipment — worth $160,000 to the Government of Uruguay’s National Sports Secretariat [La Secretaría Nacional del Deporte (SND)] and la Agencia Uruguaya de Cooperación Internacional (AUCI). The equipment was earmarked for use in four departments: Montevideo, Canelones, Durazno and Paysandú.
