Project narrative

According to the Government of Ghana’s Development Cooperation Management Information System (Gh-DCMIS), the Chinese Government and the Government of Ghana signed an RMB 900,000 grant agreement for a Cocoa Processing Plant Project. The purpose of the project was to establish a cocoa processing plant. The Gh-DCMIS identifies the project’s originally expected commencement and completion dates as March 30, 2018, and December 30, 2020, respectively. The Chinese Government contributed an additional $35 million to the Ghana Cocoa Board for the cocoa processing factory through an MOU signed on September 18, 2019 (captured via Record ID#59434).
