Project narrative

On June 3, 2020, medical supplies from China worth USD 290,000 arrived at Kigali International Airport. The supplies were donated to the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) from the People's Liberation Army of China. Rao Hongwei, China’s Ambassador to Rwanda, and General Jean Bosco Kazura, the Chief of Defense Staff of Rwanda Defense Force, signed the handover certificate at the airport upon the arrival of the supplies. The donated medical supplies were valued at USD 290,000 and included 50,000 units of disposable medical masks, 6,000 surgical masks, 6,000 medical N95 respirators, 4,200 medical safety goggles, 3,000 disposable medical protective face shields, 3,000 disposable one-piece protective gowns, 3,000 waterproof isolation gowns, 6,000 medical boots covers, 50 disposable nitrile gloves, 30 infusion pumps, 50 non-contact forehead infrared thermometers, 2 knapsack disinfection sprayers (16L) and 2 helmets for infrared temperature measurement.
