On March 31, 2020, the handover ceremony for the anti-epidemic materials donated by the Chinese government to Malawi was held at the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe. Chinese Ambassador Liu Hongyang and Malawian Minister of Disaster Management Everton Chimulirenji attended the event and delivered speeches. Nearly 50 people also attended the event, including officials from the Ministry of Disaster Affairs, media reporters and airport staff. Before the ceremony, Ambassador Liu distributed masks to event attendees to remind everyone to take protective measures.
