Project narrative

On November 16, 2020, China Eximbank and the Eurasian Development Bank signed an RMB 1.5 billion ($230 million) loan agreement for on-lending purposes and to support transboundary transactions between China and the 6 member countries of the Eurasian Development Bank (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan). The loan carried a 5-year maturity and an unknown interest rate.

1. Some EDB members are ODA-eligible in 2020, while others - such as Russia - are not. The location of on-lending recipients is unknown for the time being. Given that the majority of the EDB's capital is, as of January 2023 held by countries that were ODA-eligible in 2020, the recipient has been coded as ODA-eligible for the time being.
