Project narrative

On June 19, 2020, the Chinese government donated medical supplies to the office of the First Lady of the Gambia. These supplies will be used for epidemic prevention in the Gambia. The donation included face masks and forehead thermometers. A handover ceremony was held for this donation at the Gambia Presidential Palace. Present at the ceremony were Chinese Ambassador Ma Jianchun, First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, Foreign Minister Dr. Mamadou Tangara, and Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Claudia Cole. Following the handover of the supplies from the ambassador to the First Lady, the First Lady passed on the supplies to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for classroom use as local primary and secondary schools planned to return to in-person classes.
