Project narrative

On November 21, 2020, the Chinese embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) held a handover ceremony for a donation of anti-epidemic materials to the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC). The materials were provided by the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Some of the materials included medical masks, forehead thermometers, and protective clothing. The purpose of the donation was to help the DRC further improve its prevention and control capabilities and respond to a new round of epidemic threats. The supplies were officially donated in June 2020 by the People's Liberation Army Air Force. The handover ceremony was in Kinshasa and was attended by Chinese Ambassador to the DRC Zhu Jing, Congolese Defense Minister Ngoi, Deputy Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Ndima, Defense Attache Colonel Ma Fei of the Chinese embassy, and Economic and Commercial Counselor Xu Yuanjie.
