Full Description

Project narrative

On December 13, 2021, The Government of China provided a cash donation of 714 million Tanzannia shillings to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation. The donation is handed over by the Chinese Ambassador, Chen Mingjian, to the Secretary-General Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Ambassador Joseph Sokoine in the Ministry's Sub-Offices in Dar es Salaam. Before the handover, Chen Mingjian and Ambassador Sokoine signed the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the donation as well as the Handover Document. The donation fulfills a pledge made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China When Wang Yi made a business visit to Tanzania on 7 and 8 January 2021. The purpose of this cash donation is to help build the capacity of the Tanzania Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
