Description
On May 20, 2020, the Chinese government provided the first batch of anti-epidemic supplies to the Central African Republic. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. This is the first of two batches of anti-epidemic materials provided by the Chinese government to the Central African Republic. The second batch was provided in June of 2020 and the details of that donation are outlined in Project ID#92889. A handover ceremony was held for this donation at the Presidential Palace of the Central African Republic. The President of the Central African Republic, Central African Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office, the Presidential Press Advisor, the Presidential Political Advisor, the Minister of National Defense, the Minister of Economic Planning and International Cooperation, the Commander of the National Gendarmeria, the Superintendent of the police, and Chinese Ambassador Chen Dong attended the ceremony. This handover ceremony also included the handover of supplies from the Jack Ma Foundation, a donation from the Fujian Police Institute, (project ID #93597) and a donation from the Chinese Embassy (project ID #93598).
