Project narrative

On May 26, 2020, Wang Wei, Chinese Ambassador to Sao Tome and Principe, and Sao Tome and Principe Minister of Health Neves jointly visited the spare makeshift hospital funded by the Chinese Embassy in Sao Tome and Principe. São Tomé and Príncipe’s spare mobile cabin hospital was renovated from the auditorium of São Tomé and Príncipe National Middle School. It has 40 beds and is designed to accommodate 70 beds maximum. The renovation of water and electricity pipelines, the purchase of mattresses and other supporting basic living materials were funded by the Chinese Embassy in São Tomé and Príncipe. The Chinese Medical Team in São Tomé and Príncipe is responsible for the hospital's nosocomial infection control zoning design.
