Project narrative

On September 15, 2020, the Chinese government provided electoral and anti-epidemic materials to the Central African Republic. These materials included desktop computers, laptops, walkie-talkies, generators, masks, gloves, and forehead thermometers. These supplies are valued at around CFA 800 million. A handover ceremony was held for this donation at the Presidential Palace of Central Africa. At the ceremony, China’s Ambassador to the Central African Republic, Chen Dong, provided the materials to the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra. The Prime Minister of Central Africa, the Central African Ministers of Planning, Health, and Land Management, and the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office also attended the ceremony. This project is the first batch of electoral materials provided by China to the Central African Republic. The second batch is detailed in Record ID#86522.
