Description
On October 7, 2020, a 10-member anti-epidemic medical team dispatched from China arrived in Luanda, Angola. They planned to stay in Angola for 15 days to exchange experience with local professionals and aid in Angola's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The medical team's experience included working on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan, China. The team had experts trained in surgery, pulmonology, intensive care, nursing, the prevention of infectious diseases, and Chinese traditional medicine. Chinese Ambassador Gong Tao, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola Lopez, and State Secretary of Public Health of the Ministry of Health Mufinda greeted the team at their arrival. Secretary Mufinda noted that Angola was in an opportune time for China's assistance. Chinese ambassador to Angola Gong Tao emphasized that the solidarity between China and Angola was strong a reason to share medical information with Angola. The medical team completed the mission and departed from Angola on October 21, 2020.
