Project narrative

On December 1, 2020, China Gezhouba Company donated Sh80 million to rehabilitate schools and health facilities in three constituencies in Makueni and Kitui Counties in Kenya as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the community. Makueni, Mbooni, and Kitui Rural constituencies each received KSh 26 million to rehabilitate and construct new classrooms in 20 schools that neighbor the Thwake multipurpose dam (see Record ID#89447). The money will also be used to rehabilitate health facilities and drill boreholes for residents who could not access the Athi River after the construction of the dam started.
