Project narrative

On October 13, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan donated computer equipment to the Government of South Sudan and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Monitoring and Verification Mechanism Office for South Sudan. The Government of South Sudan and the IGAD Office in South Sudan had requested this donation of computers from the Chinese Embassy to help overcome the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The quantity and monetary value of this donation are unknown. A handover ceremony took place for this donation. China’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Hua Ning, signed a handover certificate at the ceremony with the Minister of Cabinet Affairs of South Sudan and the Senior Advisor of the IGAD Office in South Sudan. Abu Dong, the Secretary-General of South Sudan, also attended the ceremony.
