Full Description

Project narrative

On June 30, 2022, the Chinese government provided anti-epidemic materials to refugee camps in South Sudan. This donation was coordinated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in South Sudan. The donated materials included masks, goggles, protective clothing, gloves and rubber boots. These materials will be distributed to 17 health care centers and two hospitals across South Sudan, therefore providing protection to over 900 frontline medical staff. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. Mu Jianjun, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan, and the Deputy Representative of UNHCR in South Sudan attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The Vice Chairman of the South Sudan Refugee Affairs Commission and the Director General of the Ministry of Health of South Sudan also attended the ceremony.
