Project narrative

On November 11, 2021, PetroChina provided flood relief materials to the South Sudanese Government. The donated materials included blankets, mosquito nets, and sandbags. These materials will be distributed across Jonglei State, the most flood-affected area in South Sudan. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. China’s Ambassador to South Sudan Hua Ning, Economic and Commercial Counselor Mu Jianjun, the South Sudanese Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and the Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Liu Zhiyong, the Executive Deputy General Manager of PetroChina also attended the ceremony and handed over the donated materials to South Sudan.
