Project narrative

On November 11, 2021, the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan donated USD $500,000 in cash and 4,000 tons of food aid as part of emergency humanitarian response to people affected by flooding in South Sudan. The details and monetary value of the food aid are unknown. The announcement of this donation was made by the Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, Hua Ning, during his visit to Panyagor, the county headquarters of Jonglei State, South Sudan. According to the Forum on China-Africa cooperation, the Embassy is also planning to collaborate with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to implement a “panda pack” project in Jonglei which will provide more than 1,800 school bags to students.
