Project narrative

On February 18, 2021, the Chinese Embassy and Swakop Uranium donated 1 million Namibian dollars to the One Economy Foundation. The donation was made with the aim of helping children, young people and women fight COVID-19, and was distributed to youth-led organizations, shelters for GBV survivors, HIV teen clubs, out-of-school youth, and young entrepreneurs.

Staff comments

1. Since the breakdown of the donation value is not known between the Chinese Embassy (an official Chinese agency) and Swakop Uranium (not an official Chinese agency), AidData estimates the official portion as half the total value (1 million Namibian dollars), so 500,000 Namibian dollars.
