Project narrative

In December 2019, Anhui province, through vice chairperson of Anhui Province, Xiao Chaoying, donated 90,000 USD for the installation of solar energy systems at schools in Zimbabwe. On July 22, 2020, Satewave, a company based in Zimbabwe, installed two 30kPv solar energy systems in two secondary schools in Gombakomba and Manzunu. The installations will improve the electricity supply to the schools. The donation was facilitated by Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa. Mutsvangwa announced that this donation was the first of more to come in a partnership between Zimbabwe and Anhui, and was also part of Anhui Province and Manicaland Province's sister province relationship.
