Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 11, 2021, the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Consulate General in Durban provided 600 food parcels to locals in the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province of South Africa. This donation was made to alleviate the stress of citizens affected by recent riots throughout the KwaZulu-Natal province. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. China’s Ambassador to South Africa, Chen Xiaodong, the Chinese Consul General in Durban, Fei Mingxing, and representatives of the KZN Provincial government attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, Ambassador Chen Xiaodong handed over the food parcels to the KZN government. The parcels were then distributed to locals by the KZN provincial government.
